Aether Advanced Technology partnered with Bright Intelligent Automation (Bright IA) to exhibit at the annual Automation Stars of Texas (ASOT 25) expo, held December 9–10, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas. The event brought together automation professionals from across the region.
What We Demonstrated
Our booth featured live, interactive demonstrations of AI-powered defect detection running on real hardware. Attendees could place objects on a conveyor-style setup and watch the vision system identify and classify defects in real time — no pre-recorded demos, no slides.
The demonstrations highlighted several core capabilities:
- Defect detection — CNN-based models identifying surface defects, dimensional anomalies, and cosmetic flaws on manufactured parts
- Robotic vision integration — computer vision guiding robotic arms for automated pick-and-place and inspection tasks
- Edge deployment — inference running locally on compact GPU hardware, demonstrating production-viable latency and throughput
A Joint Effort with Bright IA
The demonstrations were a collaboration between Aether's custom vision software and Bright IA's robotics and automation integration expertise. Bright IA handled the PLC programming, robotic arm control, and physical automation setup, while Aether provided the trained models, inference pipeline, and vision system software. The result was a fully integrated cell showing how AI vision and robotic automation work together in a real manufacturing context.
About ASOT 25
The Automation Stars of Texas expo was organized to connect the Texas automation community — from manufacturers exploring their first automation projects to experienced integrators looking for new technology partners. The event featured exhibitor booths, live demonstrations, and networking sessions across two days.
What's Next
The response at ASOT 25 reinforced what we've been hearing from manufacturers across the region: there's strong demand for AI-powered inspection that actually works on the factory floor, not just in a lab. We're continuing to build on the demonstrations shown at the expo, with several follow-up projects already in progress.
